Set the Walls on Fire · 40-year retrospective

Set the Walls on Fire (2010) marks a major career survey between the 2007 Ringling retrospective and the 2023 Abrams Poster Child book.

The Vashon Island Center for Sustainable Book Arts — a ferry ride from Seattle — gave Byrd room to hang a large body of work. Gallery owner Phil Bevis supplied the title, “Set the Walls on Fire.” Byrd considered the show poster one of his best efforts, and few of the prints remain.
